CleanMyMac 2 is finally available from MacPaw, featuring new modules, updated scanner and cleanup algorithms, and hundreds of other improvements, including a brand new interface.

The new design, with a unified button to perform most operations, works like a charm. A three-pane view is all you need to have everything at a glance.

Automatic Cleanup lets you clean your Mac quickly and easily in two clicks, and there’s a new option to locate and erase Large and Old files.

iPhoto Cleanup goes into your iPhoto library to reduce its size without affecting your photos, while Trash Cleanup lets you empty Trash folders of your Mac’s internal and external volumes.

The Uninstaller now completely uninstalls applications, as well as leftovers and unsupported programs. CleanMyMac 2 automatically lists the apps you have installed, which means you no longer have to locate them yourself.

The Extensions Manager lets you review and manage all system plugins and extensions from a single screen, and the Eraser safely deletes files from your system so no one can find them ever again.

The Ukrainian gents at MacPaw decided to offer CleanMyMac 2 free of charge to all existing users, which is a really nice touch. Newcomers will shell out €19.97 ($19.99) for a single user license. Multi-license packs are also available.

“CleanMyMac 2 is an ingeniously simple and powerful application for keeping your Mac clean, organized and free of files that slow it down. It’s simply the best Mac cleaner around!” says MacPaw.

CleanMyMac 2 takes advantage of the latest OS X technologies, and is perfectly optimized for OS X 10.7 Lion and OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.

Customers using Snow Leopard and below are encouraged to employ CleanMyMac Classic for carrying out maintenance on their Macs. MacPaw touts CleanMyMac Classic as “the most effective solution for legacy Macs.”
