CleanMyMac 1.5.5 Improves Binary Slimming, OS X 10.6 Support

MacPaw, the creator of two very useful Mac apps, has released an update to its flagship OS X product, CleanMyMac. Now at Version 1.5.5, CleanMyMac features support for the new Snow Leopard package management system. In simpler words, Application uninstallation is more accurate in Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard).

“This update is recommended for everyone who already upgraded to Snow Leopard. For full details, view the complete release notes,” MacPaw tells users of its cleaning utility. “This update is free for all MacPaw users. If you have any problems with this update, it is recommended to download the newest version directly from our site,” the company advises customers.

In addition to the aforementioned improvements, CleanMyMac 1.5.5 should fix a binaries slimming algorithm issue specific to Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). The new version also fixes some mistypes in Italian translation, as well as some small bugs thanks to the new developer tools on Snow Leopard, according to MacPaw. Lastly, the changelog mentions small UI improvements.
