Not all of the new games are worthy to be purchased, and sometimes older titles are actually much more fun and interesting. The same is true for the Classic Explorer Pack, a collection of titles from Sid Meier.
Famous developer Sid Meier is responsible for many of the cult games in the past 20 years and odds are that you have already played some of his works. He started entire gaming genres and he produced numerous hits like the Civilization series, to name just one.
What is the Classic Explorer Pack
Most people will immediately recognize most of Sid Meier's games, but there are quite a few that are possibly older than many of the new Linux users. This was bound to happen, so now we have a collection of older games, reunited under the name of Classic Explorer Pack and promoted with a 25% discount.
Pirates! Gold Plus is the first game in the series and it was launched back in 1987, on January 1. There was a time when launch dates were not important, like they are today. In this title, players lead a crew of pirates, plundering the Spanish coast. The action is simplistic but fun, and older players will definitely enjoy this.
The second game in the collection is called Sid Meier's Colonization, and as you might have guessed already, it's the original that started the entire Civilization series. Very few games from 1994 still work on modern computers, let alone Linux, so this release is actually a nice surprise.
The third title is Sid Meier's Covert Action, which is less known than the other two. It was released back in 1990 and it was one of the most complex games of its day.
