City of Heroes faces some strong competition in the free-to-play MMO space from Sony’s DC Universe Online and the developers have launched some new content for their game, under the name of Issue 21: Convergence, designed to keep the player base interested and offer some rewards for those players who are still paying a subscription to the game.

There are new Incarnate powers included that are unavailable for those enjoying the game without paying and the new Titan powerset included in the update will be available for 800 Microsoft Points, which is the equivalent of 10 dollars (7.45 Euro) and will be available to Tanks, Scrappers and Brute characters.

The story of the City of Heroes update centers around a media company that allows both Emperor Cole and the rebels a powerful opportunity for a propaganda victory and sees both sides bring their best warriors to bear in order to secure a win.

The developers have acknowledged that the update also introduced some issues with the character creator and are working to fix them.
