Cisco Systems has recently announced the Swedish authorities have detained a person accused of stealing the source code and instructions which regulate the world wide Internet traffic. The company based in San Jose, California, has announced it encourages through every available means the case's inquiry.

FBI confirmed Tuesday night the veracity of the rumors circulating the net which announced the software
related to routers and computers controlling the Internet have been severely affected last year by a hacker claiming he infiltrated the systems used by the United States Army, research laboratories and even NASA.

The Times announces the accused has been identified in the person of a 16 year old teenager from Uppsala, Sweden, and the FBI confirmed this information. For now, it is unknown if the teenager will be convicted for violating American laws.

Cisco announced the attacks have been discovered by administrators working within research laboratories who noticed the software installed on computers and Cisco routers forming Cisco's Internetworking Operating System have been compromised.

Shortly after this event, Cisco began improving the security systems, but certain portions of the code had been already posted on a website from Russia. However, despite this fact, the company doesn't believe users of the solutions produced by the company are still threatened by an attack based on the posted information.
