If you happen to like listening to music while on-the-go and you are also a Cingular customer, then this is a day you'll always remember. The American carrier has decided to offer its users a mobile music service that, as they claim, is much better than the already existing ones on the mobile market. Cingular is going to provide music content not through a proprietary platform like the other American carriers but through an embedded mobile version of the services offered by the Yahoo, Napster, Emusic and XM Satellite Radio music providers.

Chance Patterson, the XM Satellite Radio, has declared that this is the first deal of this type they have signed with a mobile carrier and that, for the moment, this is the only service of this kind to be launched on the mobile market: "we feel like we have a strong position now in the wireless mobile space. We're going to focus on the two major initiatives we have here. We have aggressive goals for Cingular, but we're not discussing those publicly."

Also, Jim Ryan, the Vice President of consumer data services for Cingular Wireless, has said that "Cingular Music is our answer to a fragmented marketplace that until now has not fully taken into account the user experience. Music has become such an integral part of our lives and many consumers want a simple and integrated mobile music experience that gives them access to all things music."

The service will be available to the public beginning with the November 6th at a 8.99 $ all inclusive fee and besides the music listening part, the users will also be able to see the song they are listening because the PAD data will be downloaded to the cell phone.
