Chris Nolan doesn’t really like to talk about his ongoing projects, which is bad news for Batman fans, always on the lookout for details for his upcoming “The Dark Knight Rises.” Luckily, not all people working with him are as secretive as that.

In a recent interview, director of photography Wally Pfister, longtime Nolan collaborator and Oscar-nominee, spilled a lot of details on the upcoming and last Batman installment – without actually revealing anything, MovieFone notes.

One thing is certain, though, he’s seen the script and it is absolutely “phenomenal.” Even more, it will “blow your mind,” the DP promises.

Pfister says Nolan came up with the perfect installment for his trilogy, drawing on the previous two films, “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight,” but at the same time, being as original and as creative as always.

“I read the script two weeks ago, and he’s done it. Plain and simple – he’s done it. It’s a phenomenal script. He’s still in the process of cutting it back because it’s a very long script right now, but it’s really phenomenal,” Pfister says.

In fact, in order to better imagine how the film will look like, the DP had to go back and watch the previous two films in IMAX again.

“When I watched those I had read the script for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and was like, ‘Dude, it is a perfect trilogy.’ I think that was his intent, to work off those two pictures – and they are very different pictures,” Pfister explains.

Coming from any other person involved in the film, the above statement wouldn’t really mean that much since it’s understandable for a DP to praise the project he’s working on, MF says.

Nevertheless, this is not just another cinematographer, this is Pfister – and his previous work (“Batman Begins,” “The Prestige,” “The Dark Knight,” “Inception”) speaks volumes for his professionalism.

And on a final note, the DP says that “Dark Knight Rises” will be shot in IMAX but mentions nothing of 3D, which could very well mean that Nolan is still refusing to cut corners and cash in on the 3D madness by converting films in post-production.

“Our goal is to shoot as much in IMAX as we can. We’re going to put in on the screen, and put it on the screen big. And I really encourage everyone to see it in IMAX if they can because we’re really going for it this time,” Pfister says.
