Special Edition uses eSATA and boasts a BitTorrent manager

Now that the strong stream of new PCs has settled down somewhat, companies that specialize in other types of products can finally have their say. Brite-View, for one, seems most inclined towards taking advantage of this opportunity, and its new iteration of the CinemaTube is definitely an indication of that. The new device is practically a portable media player that takes advantage of the eSATA interface to deliver seamless 1080p video to any HDTV.

The CinemaTube Special Edition is a small box that can play video files encoded in a variety of different formats. The list includes FLV, DIVX, WMV, MOV, RMVB, MKV and AVI. This content can be delivered either from locally-attached hard disk drives or via the home network or web connection. Furthermore, since eSATA is about three times as fast as USB 2.0, consumers need not worry about any sort of bandwidth issues that may affect playback.

The biggest advantage of the CinemaGo is that, in tune with its name, it is hardly rooted to one spot. In fact, it is so small and easy to carry that it can become an excellent traveling companion, even usable in the car or instance. Not only that, but the torrent download feature and the MUZEE internet radio channels can serve as an excellent means of acquiring access to new media. Brite-View even threw in a Wi-Fi adapter, for easy connectivity.

"A good digital media player transforms your TV into an entertainment hub, showing content from your computer, a storage device or the network," said Robert Lo, CEO of Xpike Innovation. "The CinemaGo does exactly that, with the potential to do much more."

Brite-View is already allowing pre-orders to be set for $109.99, less than the $149.99 MSRP that will be demanded once shipments actually start. Full information may be found here.
