If you've enjoyed the
Wii's popular creative and fun title,
Boogie, then you're simply going to love it on the
DS. The game is also being ported to the PS2 and today's news is all about what the two new versions add, in terms of console specific features. Electronic Arts has also confirmed (sort of actually) the game's shipping date, which is this
holiday.
As fans surely know, Boogie hit Nintendo's Wii in August, leaving PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 users drooling over the title. Luckily for one set of users (Sony's) the game is seeing a different port. It was a matter of time really, before the DS version was confirmed. So, let's see what Boogie adds on the DS, shall we?
According to EA, the DS version of Boogie introduces new gameplay modes and mini-games not found in the Wii version. The game's unique modes include DS Download Play and Multi-Card Play, three main dancing gameplay modes including Copycat, Freestyle and Choreography as well as more than 10 mini-games. Players will also be treated to a great career mode, providing a deeper experience as they embark on a quest to become the Boogie Master. The best part though, is yet to come. EA says that Boogie on Nintendo DS offers 3D Gameplay, with the help of a nifty pair of special glasses packed in to the retail box.
The PS2 version on the other hand, needs to be more serious, right? Wrong! As such, Boogie on the PlayStation 2 showcases the game's signature dancing and singing gameplay. Players can sing along to their favorite tunes or dance to the latest hit songs as well as catch their best dance moves, record their own voice and make music videos with the music video creator.
Just so everyone knows what game we're dealing with here, Boogie features new versions of tracks made popular by hit bands such as The Jackson 5, Kool & The Gang, Black Eyed Peas and Britney Spears. Don't worry if you're not a fan of any of the upper mentioned - the game is FUN in the purest and simplest way possible so don't go too far, 'cause we'll be back with the two ports' exact launch date.
Here are six DS screens below, while the picture to the top left side shows what that 3D gameplay should be like, when wearing the glasses.
