For some time now, niche director Darren Lynn Bousman has been quietly toiling away on a new film that promises to scare the bejesus out of moviegoers next year: “Cinco de Mayo.”

You can see a first trailer for it above, but *please note that discretion is recommended as it contains language that might offend.

The trailer doesn't give away much of the plot, except that it will tell the story of a group of Mexicans trying to cross the border to Arizona one night in 2009.

It was May 5, of course, and something went terribly wrong and all these people disappeared and were never heard of again.

Since this is a horror movie / slasher, they didn't just prance away, so expect some supernatural power or being of some sorts to be responsible for their deaths.

“Cinco de Mayo” arrives in theaters on May 5, 2013 but it will probably premiere first at the Cannes Movie Festival this year.
