Existing customers can purchase the handset for $100 (75 EUR)

Regional carrier Cincinnati Bell has just added the Windows-based HTC Radar 4G smartphone to its portfolio. The device is available for free to all new customers willing to switch to Cincinnati Bell.

 

Existing customers who want to upgrade from another phone can purchase the HTC Radar 4 for $99.99 (75 EUR) after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new 2-year agreement.

 

In addition, the carrier throws in free shipping and axes the activation fee completely if the smartphone is ordered online

 

The HTC Radar 4G is powered by Microsoft’s latest version of Windows Phone, codenamed Mango, and offers a slightly different experience in comparison with the previous version of the operating system.

In this regard, the smartphone features a Start Screen that provides users with real-time updates from their favorite contacts and apps with the famous Live Tiles.

 

With People Hub contacts and social networks will be grouped together for convenient use, which makes sending messages and receive updates, pictures and posts much easier.

 

The phone also integrates built-in face detection, which allows users to tag and share pictures with their friends with only one click.

 

Hardware-wise, HTC Radar 4G comes with a 3.8-inch WVGA Super LCD capacitive touchscreen that boasts a 480 x 800 pixels resolution. The screen is protected against scratches by Gorilla Glass display.

 

The smartphone is equipped with a 1 GHz single core processor and packs 8 GB onboard memory and 512 MB of RAM. Obviously, the   device lacks a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

 

On the back, there’s a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, while on the front there’s a secondary VGA camera for video calls.
