Tablet prices are decreasing at an unimaginable pace, especially if we’re talking about those coming from China. And the newest offering from Chuwi is here to prove exactly this.

Even if the Chinese tablet market isn't as developed as the smartphone one, things are certainly going in that direction. With the advent of Xiomi’s MiPad tablet, which is one of the most capable iPad mini with Retina display we have seen so far, we can be hopeful the slate ecosystem will soon flourish in the country, too.

In the meanwhile, Chuwi is offering a budget tablet option, called VX8, which sells for a ridiculous $80 / €59, as reported by GizmoChina. The slate arrives with an 8-inch display and boasts a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8127 CPU fitted with 8GB of internal storage.

There are two cameras on board (3MP on the back and 2MP in front) and a decent 4,000 mAh battery. The tablet could be considered as a worthy alternative to the Nexus 7 2012.

The tablet arrived with a 7-inch display with the same 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, was fitted with 1GB of RAM, and bundled a 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 CPU and 8GB of storage. It also had a single 1.2MP camera and a 4,325 mAh.

Going back to the VX8, the tablet also has Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and HDMI/OTG capabilities. On top of that, it ships out with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, too.
