Yesterday we told you about the possibility of Xiaomi releasing a tablet that borrows design cues from Lenovo’s Yoga tablet that “can hold itself up.”

But apparently, Chinese manufacturer Chuwi has beaten Xiaomi to the curve. One of the company’s tablets put on display at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair looks a lot like the Lenovo Yoga and, like this particular slate, it comes with a built-in stand.

As you can see in the pictures, the same cylindrical edge characteristic of the Yoga is present here too and probably hides the battery, as well as the stand flap.

But compared to the Yoga, Chuwi’s tablet (we don’t have a definite name for it) comes with more capable specifications.

According to Chinese market watcher Edward Weinert, the tablet integrates an octa-core MediaTek M76595 processor, based on the ARM bit.LITTLE architecture with four high-performance Cortex-A17 and four energy-efficient Cortex-A7 processors.

The tablet also offers support for 4G/LTE networks and has a 13MP camera with LED flash, microUSB and 3.5mm audio jack too.

There’s no information regarding autonomy of the slate, but given the Lenovo Yoga similarity, the Chuwi one might also come boasting an impressive battery life. We also don’t know how much the tablet will cost.
