Chumlee of “Pawn Stars,” real name Austin Russell, has become the latest victim of an Internet hoax. To disprove the rumor that he’s died some sort of gruesome death, Chumlee is taking to his Twitter.

A couple of days ago, infuriated that members of the media and fans would not stop talking about his death, Chumlee shot down the rumor on his official feed.

“I am Alive and kicking some times you can't believe the hype,” he wrote.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. The rumor persisted, so he decided to offer fans something they could no longer doubt: footage of himself proving that he was not, in fact, dead.

“#not #dead #chumlee #magic #howto #selfie,” Chumlee writes in the caption of the Vine below, which sees him yelling into the camera several times “I am alive!”

So there, now you know. And, as he puts it, sometimes, it’s best to take things you read online with a grain of salt.
