14 DAY TRIAL // Much has been said about action movie star Chuck Norris, including that “when the Boogeyman goes to sleep, he checks his closet for Chuck Norris,” as fans certainly know from the many “facts” circulating on the web. However, the star is now set to get into politics, running for the presidency of Texas, if the state were ever to become independent, as he says in a lengthy column for Word Net Daily.
According to the post, the actor would seriously consider running for presidency, should the current state of things in the US ever change. However, Norris is not aiming for the White House as many might expect, especially since more and more stars are heading into politics these days, but for the chair for the presidency of Texas. That is, if it were ever to secede from the Union.
“I may run for president of Texas. That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state. From the East Coast to the ‘Left Coast,’ America seems to be moving further and further from its founders’ vision and government.” Chuck Norris announces in the column.
The star also says that the situation has become alarming, and that some sort of “American revolution” is imminent. In this sense, “thousands of cell groups will be united around the country in solidarity over the concerns for our nation,” he states. Whenever that happens – it’s not a question of if anymore, as one might notice, but rather of when – Texas will certainly be leading the way to independence, Chuch Norris says.
Moreover, the actor adds, if things were to evolve as he predicts, no one could say that they did not see it coming. “Anyone who has been around Texas for any length of time knows exactly what we’d do if the going got rough in America. Let there be no doubt about that.” Norris says.
