He played a Texas Ranger on TV for many years and now, Chuck Norris is about to be made one in real life. The actor will be presented with the honorary Rangers’ shield for boosting the profile of the Rangers.

Fans must know that, back in the ‘90s, Norris played the lead character in the CBS series “Walker, Texas Ranger,” a show about making justice happen against all odds. Clearly, he’s still reaping the fruits of his labor.

Chuck Norris won’t be the only one to receive the accolade, though, as he will have to bask in the glory of the moment together with his brother, Aaron, who also put in a lot of work on the show, ScreenCrave reports.

“According to The Texas Tribune, the Texas Public Safety Commission voted in October to make Norris one of their own. Today in Garland he was officially awarded with the honorary title and guess what? So was his brother Aaron Norris, who also worked on the show,” SC says.

Parts of the introductory speech have also emerged online – and, oddly enough, it also mentions the superpowers often hinted in the now proverbial Chuck Norris Facts.

“I think you’ll agree with me when I say that Texas is a law and order state and, if we have anything to say about it, always will be,” the speech goes.

“People may whisper about his super powers, but the greatest power of Chuck Norris is his integrity and his commitment to training the next generation in self-reliance, hard work and honor,” it is further being said.

Aaron’s contribution to boosting the profile of the Texas Rangers has been equally important, since he too was very involved in the making of the series.

“Throughout his years as Walker, Texas Ranger, Chuck had the support of his brother and executive producer, Aaron. Together, they helped elevate our Texas Rangers to truly mythical status. It is for their service that I am proud to name them Honorary Texas Ranger Captains,” the speech further says.
