Adventurous Chromebook owners rejoice, there's a new update for the dev channel. Don't rejoice too much though, it's still Google Chrome 16, even as the rest of the world has moved on to Google Chrome 17.

Dev channel Chromebook users have received Chrome OS 1193.52.0 with Google Chrome 16.0.912.38.

Google should be getting close to offloading Chrome 16 to the beta channel, and Chrome 15 to the stable channel and Chrome 17 to the dev channel of course, but it will take a while longer.

The latest dev channel update brings several functionality and stability fixes and a new Flash 11.0.3.110. Flash Player 11.1 has already been released for desktop users.

The update comes with a known issue as well, after the update Chromebooks may freeze during the first boot. To get around this, do a forced shut down and then restart the laptop.
