Only a few days after being brought to the Windows Phone Marketplace, the Chrome to Windows Phone 7 application has expanded its features beyond connecting Microsoft's new mobile operating system with Google's web browser.

The latest update that this software solution tasted enabled it to offer support for other desktop browsers too, including IE (Internet Explorer) 8 and 9, Opera, Firefox and more.

Chrome to Windows Phone 7 (or Chrome to WP7) is a great way to quickly send links to your Windows Phone 7 from your favorite web browser,” the new description of the application reads.

“I’ve clearly named Chrome to WP7 poorly, because now it supports all major browsers,” the application's developer Dave Amenta states.

“I’ve created an accelerator for IE8 and IE9, and a bookmarklet for all other browsers (Firefox, Opera, Safari, et al),” he continues.

In order to use the application, users would still have to set their desktop browsers to support sending links to the Windows Phone 7 devices.

Since the developer decided to offer the application with support for far more desktop browsers out there, it should have a better impact on Windows Phone 7 early adopters.

The current version of the application is 1.1, which was released last week, one day after the software solution made it to the Windows Phone Marketplace.

When compared to the initial release, the new version came with a “Bugfix for 'Client not found' when push notifications are not working, or are disabled.”

Moreover, the next release of Chrome to Windows Phone 7 is expected to offer users the possibility to delete links and store data offline.

Those who would like to learn more on the application should head over to the developer's website here.

The desktop version of the application was made available for download from Softpedia too, via this link. The mobile app can be found in the Windows Phone Marketplace.
