A new, rather interesting application was submitted to the Windows Phone Marketplace recently, namely Chrome to Windows Phone 7, which should offer users the possibility to easily send links or text to the handset.

Basically, through this application, Chrome users who own a Windows Phone 7 device would be able to carry their work around in a very simple manner.

“I’ve just submitted my second app, Chrome to WP7 to the Windows Phone marketplace. The app has a very simple purpose, to give you the ability to quickly send links and selected text from within the Chrome browser, to your Windows Phone,” developer Dave Amenta notes in a recent blog post.

For the time being, however, the application is waiting for Marketplace certification, the developer notes. The application will be offered for free to interested users.

The manner in which the application works is pretty simple. A push notification would be sent to the phone, and which will offer recent links and text when the app is launched on the handset.

“A push notification is sent to the phone, which will show up as a toast, and upon opening the app, a list of your most recent links and text are available, regardless of whether or not the push notification succeeded. From within the app, you may email the Title/URL/Text, or open the link,” the developer continues.

This is not the first application of the kind that mobile phone users can benefit from. According tot he developer, the app is similar with Chrome to Phone for Android.

As for the first Windows Phone 7 application that the developer submitted to the Marketplace, it was MediaRemote for Windows Phone, which is also expecting the approval process to be completed.

Through this app, users should be able to control any generic media player on the Windows XP/Vsita/7 desktop computer, as long as the media player responds to the media keys (present on the keyboard).

“This includes Zune, Windows Media Player, iTunes, Foobar2000 and more. Supported actions include: Play/Pause, Previous Track, Next Track, Volume Up/Down and Mute,” the developer notes.

There is a Chrome to Windows Phone 7 extension for the desktop browser available for download from Softpedia too, via this link.
