Chrome OS Linux, a free operating system built around the revolutionary Google Chrome browser, that aims to provide the best browsing experience on any x86 PC, notebook or Chromebook, is now at version 1.9.1077.

Chrome OS Linux 1.9.1077 is based on the latest Linux kernel, 3.3, which also incorporates the Android code.

Highlights of Chrome OS Linux 1.9.1077:

· Linux kernel 3.3.0;
· Google Chrome 19.0.1077 browser (Alpha development version);
· Google Talk Plugin 2.7;
· LibreOffice 3.4 office suite;
· GIMP 2.6 image editor;
· Wine 1.3 Windows emulator;
· Cheese 2.32 webcam app;
· Pidgin 2.7 instant messenger;
· Dashboard with a social toolbar.

User who need to change the desktop environment to GNOME shell just need to open a terminal and execute the following command:

gnome-shell --replace
