Installer-related “Error 22” stops the update push on Windows

The dev channel for Google Chrome has been updated to build 22.0.1215.0. However, the push for Windows has been cut off shortly after the new release became available for all supported platforms, because of an error with the installer.

The problem would occur when the browser checked for updates, as the procedure could not be completed, the returned message being “Installer encountered error 22.”

For the other supported platforms (Mac, Linux and Chrome Frame), one of the most notable changes consist is update for the JavaScript engine to version 3.12.14. The new V8 comes with deactivated optimization of packed arrays, a fix for broken accessor transition and various performance and stability improvements.

On Mac OS X, the Pepper Flash Player plugin is now turned on by default.
