It’s been less than a day since Google officially introduced the Nexus 5 and the Android 4.4 KitKat and the search giant continues to update its apps and services, so that they become compatible with the new platform.

The latest on the list of applications to receive an important update is the beta version of Chrome. One of the most popular mobile browsers available on Google Play Store, Chrome Beta is aimed at those who wish to test the latest features added by developers.

One of the important changes included on the list of improvements is the fact that it comes with new features for smartphones and tablets powered by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

However, given the fact that there aren’t any devices powered by Android 4.4 KitKat, it’s a bit useless until the update reaches compatible handsets in the coming weeks. According to the official changelog, the following improvements and bug fixes have been included in this update:

- Print from Chrome; - Simpler tab switcher on low memory devices; - 305526: Blank videos but audio intact; - 296882: [Nexus 10] Previous selected mails turns blank in Gmail; - 307773: Signing-in to Chrome from settings with an account with passphrase doesn't ask user for passphrase; - 306226: YouTube fullscreen videos are not playing until tap the play icon; - 306213: YouTube Audio keeps playing on returning from video playing in fullscreen; - 302679: [WebApps] 3rd party URL's from web app opens with glitches and blank screens; - 286470: [M31] Search query or URL disappears from the search box/ omnibox for a moment on committing the search;

Keep in mind that the application still has some known issues that have yet to be addressed. You can find them below:

- 310869: Sometimes sync remains Uninitialized state until user restarts Chrome; - 285066: Jaggy text on channel4.com; - 306690: Display corruption on Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

You can now download Chrome Beta for Android 31.0.1650.42 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind the application is only compatible with devices running Android 4.0 and up.
