The major release brings back the ability to add shortcuts to home screen

Google has just released the Chrome 32 for Android devices and promoted the application to the Beta channel for users to download and test it as they see fit.

Although it seems to be a major release for the beta channel, the latest version for Chrome for Android doesn't add too many new features, but it brings back one that has been removed in a previous version.

Those who don't remember, Google removed the ability to add shortcuts to home screen when they released the last Chrome for Android.

It's unclear why they have done it, but it must have something to do with this feature messing around with other tweaks and improvements they added in the previous version.

Anyway, starting with Chrome 32, the feature is back and users will be able to add shortcuts to home screen once again. Other new changes included in this version of Chrome beta includes the following new features and improvements:

- Vibration API: An API that allows web apps to make devices vibrate; - 285066: Reenabled canvas anti-aliasing.

The changelog seems a bit short, but we suspect the main reason Google released this beta is to bring back the feature that's been removed in the previous version.

As expected, the new Chrome beta still has some known issues that need to be ironed out in the following iterations. You can check them below:

- 319983: Lots of background color when scrolling up and down on pages; - 320094: [M32/M33] Double tap drag zoom gets stuck sometimes; - Some known crashes.

For those interested, Google also released a partial list of changes in this build, which are available in the SVN revision log.

You can download Google Chrome Beta for Android 32 for free via Google Play Store. Keep in mind the application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.0 and up.
