Google has rolled out a new developer build of Chrome, the company’s popular web browser based on the Apple-supported WebKit engine. The latest test build shows improvements on the video playback front, and includes a few other fixes and tweaks.

Chrome 23.0.1255.0 Dev is the latest version of Google’s web browser to come out this week.

It’s a bug fix release that deals with a crash which occurred when scavenging sessionStorages, and allows packaged apps to request access to local media folders now.

The last documented change says Chrome Dev includes an important fix for crashes “when playing video on MB retina.” The development team is referring to Apple’s newest member in the MacBook Pro family, the Retina-enabled model which sells for $2,199 / 1700 EUR.

The link below will take you to all the latest versions of Chrome (Stable, Beta, and Dev). If you’re rocking a Retina-equipped MacBook Pro, enjoy!
