Chrome 22 has landed in the Chrome OS beta channel. The Chrome 22 beta was made available to desktop users last week, somewhat later than expected. Now, Chromebook and Chromebox users can take it for a spin as well. If you're running the beta channel, you should be getting an update over the next few days.
There's
plenty to like about Chrome 22 in Chrome OS, it's really starting to look like an operating system while still retaining the things that make it special in the first place.
You should immediately notice a bunch of new animations and graphics. The boot up process and the startscreen get a new look with wallpapers (which is something for Chrome OS users to get excited about, as strange as it may seem) and even animations.
On the same note, the built-in avatar images for both regular users and guests have been updated, for a more elegant look. Under the hood, Google Drive is now completely integrated into the file manager, essentially becoming the local file system.
