A new Google Chrome beta is available for Chromebooks. Google Chrome 18.0.1025.39, part of Chrome OS 1660.44.0, comes with several fixes and improvements, building on the already existing features.

One thing that's new in the latest Chrome 18 beta for Chromebooks, a minor change, is that the Caps Lock, which is missing as a physical key on these devices, is now activated via Shift + Search Key rather than double Shift.

The login time has been improved thanks to a bug fix in this release. Another fix has been implemented for a bug where the tab focus moved too far away on the login screen. Finally, the brightness filter in the new Photo Editor has been fixed.

Google also notes that three-finger click on the touchpad works the same as two finger click and that this is the intended behavior and not a bug.
