The Google Chrome team has announced the arrival of Chrome 13.0.782.107 to the Stable Channel for all supported platforms, including Mac OS X.

Softpedia noted earlier today that users were becoming restless that a new Stable version of Chrome was nowhere in sight for weeks. We're now proud to inform that the waiting is over.

Spanning over 5200 revisions, Chrome 13 Stable brings to the table some exciting new features, such as Instant Page rendering, according to Anthony Laforge, of the Google Chrome team.

His blog post includes all the major security fixes and the respective rewards nabbed by the folks who discovered them.

On behalf of Google, he extends a huge thanks to all the security researchers the search giant works with, confirming that “there are $17,000 of rewards in this patch, which is possibly the best haul yet.”

On the official Google Chrome blog, a more detailed post about this new Stable release can be found.

There, Timo Burkard, Software Engineer is eager to remind users that Google’s Instant Pages feature is on by default in the latest stable version of Chrome.

“This means that sometimes when you click a Google search result in Chrome, the page will appear to load much faster than before,” he explains.

Something that Mac users won’t see in this Stable release, whereas their PC-wielding friends will, is “print preview”.

Available for Windows and Linux users in the latest stable version of Chrome, the function relies on Google’s fast built-in PDF viewer and an easy “print to PDF” option.

Mac users are being told to “hold tight”. Work is in progress for this feature on Macintosh builds of Chrome.

Finally, the omnibox is “much smarter” in this release, according to Burkard.

The tool allows users to go back to pages they’ve visited before a lot easier now.

Users simply type part of the address, or the page title, and then select matching results from the drop-down history menu.
