Christina, the Circus Girl, Is 'Hurt'

After the not so glamorous VMAs, I said that Christina Aguilera's track, 'Hurt', taken from the 'Back to Basics', is The Bomb! I still stand by my opinion, all the more that it now has a video to go with it, with its overall feeling and lyrics.

Shot in September, over a period of five days, the video also represents the singer's directorial debut (in collaboration with Fliora Sigismondi, who also did her 'Fighter' video) and, judging by the amazing combination of photography, special effects and oldish shots, she has done a pretty good job at it.

For 'Hurt', the saddening ballad of regret and loss, Christina went for a circus-themed video, in which she plays the main attraction of the show, the trapeze girl. And we have to admit that this retro style is working great for the once extravagant singer. Dressed in Moulin Rouge-type of outfits, the blonde Christina is, as always, recognized from the very first instant for her signature bright red lipstick and blue eyes.

Blogcritics.com says the track will be mostly airplayed, as the producers of the album and the singer herself believe it would best suit the Holiday spirit. Even more, they are hopeful that, if it gets picked up by the major radio stations, it will lead to a Grammy nomination, earlier next year.

If it were for me, I would give her the award right here and right now. But that's just me... Click HERE to judge for yourselves.
