Two days after showing off her baby bump for the first time since announcing she’s pregnant with her first child, Christina Applegate has made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk more about what it’s like be an expectant mommy. As it turns out, Christina got to experience all the symptoms one gets to read about in books – and even become a little “cuckoo,” she says, as cited by iVillage.

The “Married with Children” star, though, proved she still has a wicked sense of humor by walking on the set with a t-shirt tucked under her black dress, to make her bump even bigger. Asked by Kimmel why she’d do such a think, Christina smiled and just said that she thought it would make her appearance even more spectacular than it was, and then proceeded to remove the extra padding before doing the actual interview.

Pregnancy is really what you read it is – at least for Christina. “The first time mom-to-be is getting a crash course in what it’s like to be expecting – and some of the lessons are not all that pleasant. ‘Everything you read in the books, I got it all,’ she said Tuesday on Jimmy Kimmel Live! ‘The cravings... the morning sickness, I had for a really long time, the psychosis. The morning sickness is so bad, Oh, my God!’ Applegate, who’s engaged to musician Martyn Lenoble, admits that being with child has definitely made her ‘a little cuckoo’,” iVillage writes.

“She said she finds herself ‘yelling for no reason, it’s out of control.’ ‘It’s almost out of body,’ she explained. ‘You’re stepping back from yourself and you’re watching this insane monster in front of you that’s you. And you want to stop her, but she is kind of fun to watch. That’s sort of what’s been happening.’ Isn’t this what we’ve always loved about the actress that we’ve watched evolve since her days on Married... with Children? She’s real and honest and, not to mention, brave. In 2008, Applegate underwent a double mastectomy, after being diagnosed with breast cancer,” the same women’s portal further informs.

Christina and fiancé Martyn Lenoble made the announcement that they were expecting a child on July 21. They’ve been together for almost two years, and became engaged on Valentine’s Day 2010. They are yet to announce a due date or whether they’re about to have a boy or a girl.
