Christina Aguilera's Baby Pictures Cost How Much???

Is it just me, or is this baby mania getting out of hand?

Quite a high price tag...

Boy, I think Christina Aguilera is one happy camper right about now. I can almost see her sitting in front of her vanity mirror, putting on orange make-up, lining up her red lipstick collection and laughing her head off all the time. I know, that's not a very pleasant visual, but is that really relevant right now? What matters is that Christina finally got her heart's desire - she and her newborn baby Max made the cover of People magazine and cashed in a whooping $2 million for it. Wait - double take - Christina got how much for her baby pictures? Call me jealous, call me a hater, call me whatever you like, I still think this is just a ridiculous amount of money. I mean, the poor kid barely saw the light of day and mommy is already cashing in on it?

Am I the only one who finds this slightly disgusting? I hope not - because honestly, I think the magazines are pushing

all this "celebrity baby" mania past the limit of decency. I mean yes, I know 2$ million is spare change for someone like Angelina Jolie, who sold photos of her biological daughter Shiloh for a record $4.1 million (which apparently went into one of her charities, so at least there was a noble goal in addition to feeding the public hunger for celebrity news) - but nevertheless, I can't get my head over the fact that it's simply too much money. The latest money-spinning Hollywood industry is not making movies or releasing quality music albums - it's all about making babies. And the show is barely getting started. Jessica Alba, Halle Berry - and those are just a few names on an ever-expanding list.

The explanation? "Everyone is curious to see", Roxanne Motamedi, executive director of entertainment at Getty Images (the agency that shot the photos of baby Max) stated for the NY Daily News. "The bigger the celebrity, the more people want to know what the baby looks like. It sells magazines. If a celebrity is non-cover material, the value is less", she says, then explains the mystery of the incredibly large amount of money Brad and Angelina cashed in for allowing the world a glimpse of their precious Shiloh. "Brad and Angelina are two of the biggest stars today and obviously they sell whatever they do. Everyone is interested in their life". Well, add Christina Aguilera to the list of "ridiculously well-paid mommies". Who's next?
