14 DAY TRIAL // Christina Aguilera is preparing for the release of her latest studio album, “Bionic,” which has already generated plenty of media despite the fact that she’s done little so far by means of promotion. With a first single and a music video out, Christina is now facing the same problem many recording artists of today face: that of having a song leak before the release, as MTV UK can confirm.
The song is called “Woohoo” and represents a collaboration with Nicki Minaj, who also worked with Mariah Carey on one of her latest singles “Up Out My Face.” “Woohoo” seems to be confirmation of what Christina has been saying these past few weeks, as she’s letting fans know what they might expect from her upcoming album: it will include many styles, many collaborators and will certainly span many hits. “Woohoo,” for one, seems bound to become a dance anthem, word on the blogosphere has it.
“A new track from Christina Aguilera and rapper Nicki Minaj has leaked online. The song Woohoo is taken from Xtina’s next album Bionic and is produced by Polow Da Don – who’s made hits for Chris Brown and Usher. It features typically saucy lyrics from both Aguilera and hot new Lil Wayne protégé Nick,” MTV says of the leaked song. Just like “Not Myself Tonight,” this song too features Christina at her most daring, showing that, indeed, she’s not about to let motherhood hinder herself in terms of expressing herself artistically.
This is precisely what she was criticized for after the release of the “Not Myself Tonight” video. What Christina said was her expressing her freedom of being whoever she wants was interpreted as a poor attempt at emulating other pop stars and standing out from the crowd. As for concerns as to how her son Max might see this particular video once he grew up, Aguilera said people should find something else to worry about because Max already knew to make the difference between his mommy and his mommy as an artist.
“Mama still has to be me. I never claimed to be a cookie-cutter soccer mom. That’s all good for some people. Not for me. [Max] is going to grow up in a household where he knows mommy expresses herself artistically […]. He’s going to learn to respect the fact that women are allowed to express themselves and not feel shameful about their bodies,” she was saying a few days ago, as we also reported.
