14 DAY TRIAL // Christina Aguilera recently filed for divorce from Jordan Bratman but it seems she’s already found some comfort in the arms of a new man. He has been identified as Matthew D. Rutler, a set assistant from the star’s latest film.
Just the other day, photos came out showing Christina on her way home from a supposed double date with Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, thus confirming reports she was already back in the dating game.
At the time, because of the paparazzi who took the shots, it was believed the mystery date the singer tried so hard to shield from the cameras was none other than Benji Madden, Joel’s brother.
E! Online says it has it from a very reliable source that the man was not Benji. Even better, it even has photographic evidence it wasn’t Paris Hilton’s ex who was in the same car with Aguilera that night.
“The newly single singer was on a double date with Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, and the blond babe wasn’t exactly trying to hide her affections for her new beau, just his face,” E! says.
“Here’s what went down: Xtina hit up the exclusive club with Matthew D. Rutler, a set assistant from her upcoming movie Burlesque,” the same report argues.
Besides photographic confirmation that Christina’s date was, indeed, Mr. Rutler, E! also has an eyewitness vouching the same. Moreover, the twosome seem very smitten, the spy dishes.
“The group was hanging out in a corner of the private club together. Christina and Matt were cuddling on a couch together and left holding hands. They definitely seemed like a couple,” says the spy.
“Aguilera attempted to hide Matt’s face as they hopped in the back of Madden’s car, but those sneaky paps say they caught the two holding hands and looking very cuddly trying to sneak out,” E! further notes.
According to unnamed friends of the singer, the two were friends at first and only just recently did they realize there could be more to their relationship than just friendship.
