Christina Aguilera Was So Drunk She Couldn’t Stand, Says Rep

When she was arrested for public intoxication, singer Christina Aguilera was so drunk she couldn’t stand without help, did not know where she was or her own address, a police spokesperson tells Us Magazine.

As we also informed you earlier today, last night, Aguilera and her boyfriend Matt Rutler were stopped by police officers after they noticed Matt was driving erratically.

A field sobriety test established that Rutler was intoxicated – and he was booked and will be charged with driving under the influence.

Aguilera, in return, will not face prosecution but she was still booked and had to spend the remainder of the night in a cell because she was too drunk to be able to take care of herself.

“When she got out of the car, she couldn’t stand. We had to help her stand,” LA County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Steve Whitmore says for Us Magazine.

“She didn’t know where she was and she didn’t know her own address. We took her into custody for her own protection,” the same spokesperson explains.

This was also the reason why she was kept in custody overnight, so that she could sleep if off and then be able to take herself home safely.

“After passing a sobriety test, Aguilera was released from custody around 7:30 a.m. Although she was slapped with a misdemeanor charge, the star will not be prosecuted, Whitmore explained. (The case against Rutler, who released on bail, is ongoing.)” Us notes.

“It was an arrest for her own safety... It is a public welfare issue. She was incapacitated and not able to take care of herself,” Whitmore stresses.

This arrest, as expected, has done nothing in terms of making the rumors of Christina’s alleged alcohol problem go away.

On the contrary, more and more unnamed “friends” of hers are now talking to the media, saying they’re pressuring her into going to rehab to get help for her problem.

Aguilera is yet to comment on the arrest of last night – but fans shouldn’t hold their breath, because she will probably say nothing about it.
