Christina Aguilera is acting like a diva again: on the heels of a heavily criticized Super Bowl performance (for messing up the lyrics) and following several other incidents, her people are thinking of staging an intervention.
The only problem is that their plan got out before they could even deal with all its details – and Aguilera is
furious, threatening all her people with firing them if they ever come near her to tell her she needs help.
Talk of how the singer was drowning her post-divorce sorrow in booze has been around for weeks now, and some media outlets have even gone as far as to say Christina was headed
down “the Britney Spears road.”Aguilera’s own people believe the same and they simply can’t stand by and watch her toss her life and career down the drain,
PageSix writes.
“In the wake of her divorce from Jason Bratman and box-office bust ‘Burlesque,’ sources tell us Aguilera has been acting erratically, and her staff banded together with a plan to persuade her to get some help,” PageSix has learned.
The plan was but a short-lived one, though, because Christina got wind of it and killed it in the bud, as the saying goes.
“But when Aguilera caught wind of their plan, she threatened to fire all of them for even suggesting that she has a problem, a source told Page Six,” the tab writes.
“They wanted to talk to her carefully about the issue, but they’re not going to because they are scared after she threatened to fire them. Her people desperately want this to come out so she will get help,” says the spy.
A different source is telling a different story: admittedly, all these rumors about how Aguilera is
drinking too much and needs help / rehab are being spread around by a “fired and disgruntled former staffer,” says the aforementioned media outlet.
As we
also noted earlier today, Christina got her lyrics confused yesterday while singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLV. She’s scheduled to perform next at the Grammys this Sunday.
