Christina Aguilera talks new album, says it’s been inspired by her stint on The Voice

Christina Aguilera fans get ready: the singer has confirmed in a brand new interview with Rolling Stone that, while a mentor / coach on NBC’s The Voice, she’s also been working on her next album. Unfortunately, there’s no release date for it yet.

Critics deemed Christina’s latest studio material, “Bionic,” a flop because it took the emphasis from her beautiful voice and placed it on expensive production and studio trickery.

Industry insiders also considered it such because of the disappointing sales, partly due to the fact that the entire album leaked online weeks ahead of the official release.

Christina has long promised to make it up to the fans who felt disappointed in “Bionic.” Her next album will be heavily inspired from her experience on The Voice, she tells Rolling Stone, as the video below will confirm.

“It’s gonna surface in my own music and on my own albums because I’m getting inspired every day working with everybody from the cast to the show, the other coaches, on and off screen, and of course, my team, Team Xtina. We’re the best,” the singer says in the interview.

She also says she’s been hard at work in the studio on the upcoming album in between breaks from the show, which round up its first season last night.

“I thought it would be an amazing thing to almost bring up talent and be a part of somebody else’s journey while going through the next chapter of my life, recording my next album,” she explains.

Sadly for fans, Christina doesn’t say anything about a possible release date, or perhaps Rolling Stone simply doesn’t ask.

This is not the first time that Aguilera confirms she’s ready to bounce back from “Bionic” with a new release: she confirmed it on Jay Leno back in April this year, when The Voice hadn’t even premiered.
