For months, Christina Aguilera has been coming under a lot of fire in the press for her fuller figure, made very apparent because of her inclination towards tight clothes. She has all the approval she needs from her man, she says in a new interview.

People caught up with the diva at a recent press call for the second season of The Voice and she made it a point of stressing she didn't need people's approval for her body.

As she put it, she's proud and happy with her curves. The same goes for her boyfriend, so there's really no reason for her to seek to lose weight.

“As long as I am happy in my own skin, that is all that is all the confirmation I need,” she says, discussing how hard women in showbiz have it, as compared to men, who definitely get away with a lot more than weight gain.

“I have a boyfriend that loves my body. I love my body, my son is healthy and happy and that is all that matters,” Christina adds.

As a judge and mentor on The Voice, Christina aims to teach aspiring female singers that they need to project the image of a strong and confident woman in order to make it in the industry.

Nay, they must be strong and confident if they want a shot at fame.

“Her message of 'being comfortable in my own skin' and taking risks 'whether it be crazy cotton candy hair or interesting theatrical makeup' is something Aguilera wants to pass on to her upcoming protégés on season 2 of The Voice,” People writes.

This is not the first time that Christina speaks out on her weight and how people need to back off and just let her be.

In November 2011, she performed at the American Music Awards and drew a lot of criticism for the way she looked (she donned a white bandage dress that did her no favors with her curvy figure), but that was her very goal, insiders were saying at the time.

Friends close to the singer told the tabs that Christina had chosen the dress on purpose, looking to tell young women they should never settle for what is being expected of them.

“She feels like she is setting an example for women and young girls, especially Latinas. She’s very proud of her curves. Christina thinks she is a good role model – not everyone is super skinny and she wants girls to embrace their body type,” said a spy, as we also reported at the time.

Christina, you are beautiful. Period. Exclamation Point. Everyone has an opinion, as do I. You are happy and well; what else matters?

she's voluptuous and gorgeous and it proves you don't have to meet society's standards and be an anorexic 90 lb. barbie to be seen as attractive...bring back those curves Christina!...

Gimme the curves--no bone bags for me! Christina's critics can go suck an egg. She looks the way a real woman should look like.

Does anyone else see whats wrong with our media driven society? From an emotional standpoint its great that shes standing up for women who are plus sized but there are also negative consequences to weight gain from a health perspective. Only in the states would we see this type of behavior acceptable by the mere fact that she is against judging others by appearance. Being overweight is not healthy and at the same time no one is asking you to be extremely skinny either. The media is driven by hyperboles and emphasizes one or the other extreme-skinny or plus sized. How about lets learn to embrace how to be proud of taking care of our own health instead of worrying about curves.

Unfortunately now days a size 6 is considered plus sized. So Standards need to change on how we ourselves look in the mirror and see our selves. Healthy is the main goal and that differes from person to person. The fact that you are judged by your weight or appearance and not the PERSON ...that is something that is more difficult to change. We are groomed by Victoria Secret modles. I know some women that are beautiful and dont see them self as such..I know beautiful women that all they see is the mirror and there is nothing behind the empty eyes. To find a woman that has heart beauty and morality, she is a rare specimen.

Its great as in the end all that matters is that you love yourself, be it skinny or fat. That is all that matters because you never have to second guess yourself and be a slave to what everyone says is the ideal.
