She may have somewhat of a reputation of a diva (if one is to believe tabloid reports), but Christina Aguilera has nothing but love for her fellow female singers. In a recent interview to promote the upcoming singing competition The Voice, Aguilera talks her love of Britney, and the singers today she most admires.

Many have pitted Christina against Britney, especially in the early days of their respective careers, but, as it turns out, Aguilera has nothing but love and support for her former pop rival.

Asked about whether she’s had the chance to check out Spears’ new album, “Femme Fatale,” which came out a few days ago, Christina says she hasn’t listened to it just yet, but the few songs she’s heard so far from it she liked.

“I haven’t heard the whole thing in its entirety, I’ve been really hard on work on this show, but I am a huge supporter of her because both of our careers started off together and are still going strong,” Christina says in an interview for Parade.

“I think it’s extremely important to be supportive of fellow artists and especially females, who often get pitted against each other and torn apart,” she adds.

“As an old friend of mine from the Mickey Mouse club, I think it’s important at this stage in the game to really show my support,” Aguilera further says.

As for other singers whose voices and music she likes, Christina says she’s a huge fan of Jennifer Hudson, with whom she performed for the Aretha Franklin tribute at this year’s Grammy Awards, Adele and Lauryn Hill.

Fans of her own music should also be happy to know that The Voice will not see Christina as just a judge, because she’s also expected to perform on the show, once it premieres.

“On the opening show there is a performance between the four of us. It was fun, almost a jam session between four artists. And you will have opportunities, even through my coaching, where I might get involved in singing a song and telling them a way I want it to be heard. You will hear me sing on the show,” Aguilera promises in the same interview.
