The season 2 finale of The Voice brought back in the spotlight an alleged longstanding feud between Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine, two of the judges on the panel. It may have cost Christina her spot on the show, a new report says.
On Monday's show, Christina and Adam got into another verbal spat after Tony Lucca, Adam's contestant, performed a rock version of Jay-Z's “99 Problems.”
As we also informed you the other day, Christina thought the song was “derogatory” to women and, as such, a very bad choice for a family show, but Adam defended it saying it was more about the challenges life throws at you than about women in particular.
Speculation says that he specifically chose the song as a diss to Christina, with Tony siding with him on this one because she “had it in for him” since Day 1.
Rumors also have it that, before the show, the two judges got into a very nasty argument backstage over the song, with Christina feeling “disgusted” by how Levine would constantly belittle and humiliate her.
Hollywood Life claims that she's the only one to think that, and that everybody who witnessed the altercation is siding with Levine.
In fact, because of this final spat, Christina's position as judge on the panel is being threatened – i.e. she might not return for season 3 because, basically, no one likes her.
“Christina’s cruel remarks & diva antics have turned everyone against her, Hollywood Life has learned. Adam Levine may be the only person publicly feuding with Christina Aguilera, but behind the scenes of The Voice, it’s Christina against the world!” the celebrity e-zine writes.
Sources confirm that the entire crew is sick and tired of Aguilera's diva behavior so, at this point, she would be better off if she just quit.
“The entire crew blames Christina for the argument and feud with Adam. I’ll be surprised if she is here next year as a judge – and if she is, she will never win the show,” says an insider.
“Everyone is happy with what Adam did and is completely on his side with this issue. When things get heated – on and off set – the people in makeup have been told to go to Christina and work on her so she doesn’t start complaining or yelling,” adds the same source.
“If she starts carrying on and making a scene [with the other coaches], the people in makeup act like a pit crew and rush to her to keep her quiet,” the tipster further dishes.
Below is the most recent argument Christina got into with Levine – at least, of what people at home saw.
