Instead of taking her recent arrest for public intoxication as a warning sign, singer Christina Aguilera continues to deny she has a problem that she needs professional help for, and has gone back to drinking as much as before, it has been claimed.
The singer was arrested some days ago, when police pulled over the car driven by her current boyfriend, Matthew Rutler.
Field sobriety tests determined that Rutler was driving under the influence, while Aguilera was so intoxicated she could barely stand and was put in a police cell to sober up, for her own safety.
Before that, the couple had been partying and drinking at a fancy LA eatery well past midnight – and they returned to the “scene of the crime” for more on that, just days after the arrest.
“The new Us Weekly reports that on March 4, three days after a wine-drenched feast at Osteria Mozza led to her public intoxication bust, the singer, 30, and her beau Matthew Rutler returned to the L.A. eatery,”
Us Magazine reports.
Not only did the two return to the eatery, they also drank a lot of wine – the only difference being that, this time, neither got behind the wheel at the end of the night.
“She acted as if the arrest never happened. When their server offered them dessert, they asked for more wine,” says a source from inside the restaurant.
By the time they left, Aguilera was definitely inebriated, adds the same source.
Friends are concerned that Christina continues to ignore warning signs and that she may lose everything she’s worked so hard for because of it.
“She should see the arrest as a wake-up call, but she doesn’t. She doesn’t think things are that bad,” a friend of the star’s says for the aforementioned publication.
Just to give you an idea of how bad things are, a police rep said after the arrest that it was for Christina’s own safety.
Apparently, the star was
so drunk she could barely stand, and did not know where she was – or, for that matter, remember her home address to have someone drive her there.
