Christina Aguilera hasn’t been out performing much in recent months, but that’s only because she’s been dedicating her time to her daughter Summer Rain, born 6 months ago. As you probably know, she continued to perform live long after she and fiancé Matthew Rutler broke the happy news about the pregnancy, but she stopped before the due date, as was to be expected.

Her first appearance on a stage in over 6 months took place during the weekend, at the 2015 NBA All-Star Game at Madison Square Garden, with a New York-themed medley including iconic songs and a massive production.

You can see the video of the entire number, including a surprise cameo by rapper Nas, embedded below, at the end of this post.

Christina showed up on stage from inside a cherry and belted out covers of Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York,” George Benson’s “On Broadway,” Stevie Wonder’s “Living For the City,” and Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind.”

After Nas’ number, she continued with Jay Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind” - and even managed to squeeze in a costume change, pouring herself into a very low-cut, lacy black dress.

Christina has been taking time out from the spotlight and the media circuit, but that doesn’t mean that she’s forgotten about her fans: she’s been working on her upcoming album, which is believed to drop later this year.

She will also be returning to NBC’s The Voice for a new season, so chances are she will offer more details about the album then, if not actually showcase new music.
