Christina Aguilera is back in the spotlight and she’s not wasting a second of her time here. After taking some time off as an artist, she’s back doing her own thing, which is just perfect, because it means more red carpet appearances and interviews.
Before kicking off the promo tour for her upcoming album, “Lotus,” Christina took some time off her busy schedule to attend the 2012 ALMA Awards.
Attached to this article are two photos snapped on the red carpet, of Christina looking confident and classy in a Michael Kors design.
She was at the ceremony because she was honored for her charitable efforts of the past year.
Christina wore this long-sleeved Kors dress with a thigh split and sheer lace panels on the side, which further created the impression of a perfect hourglass figure.
This type of design is very hot with celebrities right now because, thanks to the optical illusion, it’s perfect for both extremely slender women and curvier types like Christina.
Angelina Jolie, for instance, also opted for this particular gown
to wear at an event earlier this year.
Aguilera accessorized with fabulous Christian Louboutin shoes, a Judith Leiber handbag and Neil Lane jewelry, and wore her hair (pink highlights and all) in a severe ponytail.
In recent years, Christina has often been criticized for piling on too much makeup and bronzer but, from what we can see from these pics, she did everything in moderation for this event. We would like it though if she applied lipstick only on the lips and not beyond their line.
“It’s a huge honor,” Christina said
on the red carpet about being invited at the ALMAs to be honored for her charity work.
“It’s important to know that I’ve gotten to use my voice in all capacities, and it’s most important for me to be able to use my voice for good. Having gone to Haiti and Guatemala with the World Food program and seeing firsthand how your voice can make a difference means a lot to me,” she added.
