Star and her boyfriend step out to party, don’t match costumes

Last year, Christina Aguilera and boyfriend Matt Rutler stepped out in matching Halloween costumes: they both went as pirates. This year, the singer struck a contrasting note from her knight in shining armor.

Christina and Matthew met on the set of “Burlesque” and started dating shorty after her marriage to Jordan Bratman fell apart, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

This year for Halloween, Matt got dressed up as a knight in shining armor, while Christina chose an outfit that barely managed to contain her and, from what we can see, was far from easily identifiable.

While there’s no denying that Christina looks convincing in her get-up, as revealing as it might be, no one seems to know what exactly she’s trying to be.

Because of this, celebrity bloggers have been sneering that she simply dressed like she normally does, adding instead the big hair and the princess crown to make it look as if she was in costume.

Regardless of that, Christina has been getting a lot of media attention in recent months and it’s not just because she has a brand new album to promote.

She’s been speaking about body image and self-confidence, and, at the same time, receiving a lot of criticism because of her weight gain and, in particular, because of her eccentric fashion sense.

In a recent interview, her fellow judge / mentor on The Voice (an apparent frenemy) Adam Levine came to her defense, putting bullies in their place with only a few words, the New York Daily News reports.

“The one thing about the culture right now, celebrity culture particularly, is people feel like they can just say nasty things about other people whether it's Christina or whether it's me. She gets a lot and it [expletive] me off,” Levine told reporters.

Christina too had a few choice words to say about bloggers and “haters” in an interview of late last week, most of which we can’t reproduce here because of the language used.

Chances are she’d say the same if you thought her Halloween costume was bad or trashy. Check out the pics and let us know what you make of it. On the same note, ideas on what she’s going as are quite welcome.
