Christian Vieri is now officially retired from football. We don't know for sure if he's going to play one last testimonial in front of his fans, but what's certain is that he is no longer Sampdoria's striker. Actually, when giving up on Genoa, he stated loud and clear that his football career is over.

The announcement was made late yesterday by the Sampdoria officials. Through an official statement, the media was announced
of Vieri's decision to say good bye to the club: "The Sampdoria Club is informing you that, after holding discussions with Vieri all yesterday night, the deal between the striker and out administrator Giuseppe Marotta is over".

"The two parties decided that there is no reason for any of them to continue the rules of the contract and Christian Vieri left the club on reasonable terms", ended the statement. The footballer's official retirement is yet to be announced. Still, considering the state of events, his official statement should come any time soon.

During his professional life, Vieri played many teams in Italy and Europe. He was the first striker to play for all three big clubs in Italy - Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan - among other European adventures. Let's make a short recap:

Prato, Torino, Pisa, Ravenna, Venezia, Atalanta, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Lazio, Inter, Monaco, Milan and Sampdoria are all the teams where the 33-year old has played in the past. He suffered a terrible injury this spring, while playing for Monaco, and was dropped for the World Cup tournament.
