Christian Bale Has Serious Issues, Family Says

A little over a year ago, a 4-minute recording of Christian Bale on the set of “Terminator: Salvation,” yelling at the top of his lungs at a staffer who had walked in on a scene and broken his concentration, surfaced online. Only a few months earlier, the actor had been arrested for assault after his mother and sister had called the police – now, they’re telling their story to the Daily Mail, hoping to get through to him.

Bale grew up apart from his mother and sister in London, as he moved with his father to Los Angeles when he was a teen, but they always had a good relationship. That was until a year and a half ago when a fight between him, his sister and his mother broke at a hotel in London, and ended with a visit from the police and Bale being taken into custody under suspicion of assault. Jenny and Shannon are now telling the Mail what exactly went down that day and how they no longer stay in touch with the actor.

According to the mother and sister, who went to the meeting at the hotel with three of Bale’s nieces who were dying to have dinner with him, they did nothing wrong. The meeting had been planned in advance for many months and they had done nothing to upset the tempered actor, that they know of. With all this, almost as soon as they sat down, he flew into a rage which ended with him yelling obscenities at his sister and then dragging the scared women outside of the hotel suite and into the elevator.

“We walked into his suite and he didn’t say much. It was clear that he was angry for some reason. He left the room to take a phone call. […] Then he walked in and immediately started shouting at us. He was saying how angry he was that we had left the arrangements to the last minute – which made no sense because we’d been planning it for weeks with all the people around him. Perhaps the messages weren’t getting through, we just don’t know,” Sharon tells the publication.

Things didn’t stop here, though, as Bale started screaming at his mother too, telling her that he was not being paid the respect he was due – and, shortly afterwards, he was pushing them out the door. Once out, the women called the police though, as Sharon puts it, she did not expect to have her brother arrested, she only wanted someone to sit down with him and talk some sense into him. According to the two women, they haven’t spoken since, but they’re positive he has some serious issues controlling his anger.

“I know that getting arrested annoyed him, and I know that being all over the papers annoyed him, too. But I don’t think that is the reason he isn’t talking to us. He was furious with us before we’d even opened our mouths. Probably, before we walked into the suite. We just don’t know why,” Jenny says, somehow hoping that this would make her son see reason and make contact with them again.
