New Line is in a terrible rush to start the "Rush Hour 3" movie project. The studio gave the greenlight to the project so the sequel should start as soon as possible, most probably in late summer or early September.
The movie is to be released in theaters during the summer of 2007.
Variety reports that "Rush Hour 3" will be set in Paris, and will have as villains members of the Chinese-French mafia. Both Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan have already signed up for the project that involves fighting against the Triads of Paris.
The first two Rush Hours have gained little positive reviews yet have grossed a $600 million worldwide, so why the delay of the third one? Well, the original intention was to start it up as soon as the second one got out of the theaters, but several difficulties and other projects of the lead actors made the studio post-pone it for almost 5 years.
Director Brett Ratner and screenwriter Jeff Nathanson are said to be involved in the project but none of the two has confirmed anything yet.
