Before Chris Pine is back on the big screen as Captain James T. Kirk in “Star Trek 2,” fans will be able to catch him in “People Like Us.” Pine stopped by Leno to talk about these two films and more.

Below are two videos from the interview, make sure you check them out as well.

Before getting into the juicy stuff, Chris tells Leno a few things about how he got started in the industry and about his big break on “ER,” a small role that had him say just 3 lines for the camera, but for which he prepared for about 3 and a half weeks.

He also jokes about doing a movie festival when promoting “Star Trek” before it came out – and how he thought he was the only one who didn't get a positive reception from fans.

Unfortunately for the trekkies, Pine doesn't say a word about the insanely anticipated sequel, except that he's done shooting for it – as also is Zachary Quinto (Spock), as he announced on Twitter a few days ago.

Leno also asks the handsome actor whether he's considering doing the film adaptation of the best-selling novel “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which has gotten everyone in Tinseltown hyped.

“So has every woman read this book?” Chris asks when the audience starts cheering at the mere mention of the name of the novel, which is part of a trilogy loosely inspired by the story in the “Twilight” books.

Sadly, he won't be playing the lead in it, but he does offer an explanation for how his name came to be attached to it.

“Look, I was on a red carpet in Las Vegas, and someone asked me and the only reason I knew about it is that every woman in my life has read this trilogy... And I said yeah sure, if it comes around, blah blah blah, as you do,” Chris explains.

Next thing he knows, he's on TMZ under a headline that's he's in negotiations for the part.

“I'm not doing it, no,” he says.

He doesn't rule out taking his clothes off for a part, though.

“I don't have a Michael Fassbender-type of deep desire to let it all hang out [but] if it was pivotal for the art, I’d get my acting coach and we’d work it out,” Pine explains.

He also introduces a new clip from “People Like Us,” which also stars Elizabeth Banks and which will be out on June 29.

Below is the interview. Enjoy.
