“All they do is laugh and act flirty and playful,” family friend tells People

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin pompously announced their decision to “consciously uncouple” (i.e. get a divorce) in a joint statement released 3 months ago but, since then, things have actually worked out for the better for them. They’re back together, more or less.

Over the weekend, various reports were saying that the two, who have been married for 10 years and have 2 adorable kids together, had decided to “consciously recouple” after seeing what life without the other would be like during these 3 months.

In other words, living life as divorcees had made them understand that they liked better being a couple.

This time, it’s People magazine who’s offering a confirmation of sorts of reconciliation plans. However, the family source they spoke to chooses to remain cautiously optimistic and stops just short of confirming they’re back on.

“They haven't made any concrete decision to get back together yet, but clearly it's a possibility. At this point, some of the pressure was just taken off them – pressure they put on themselves to ‘make it work’,” the source reveals.

That they’re on the right track could also be inferred from the fact that Martin, who moved to his Malibu pad right after they made the decision to divorce, has moved back into the house he previously shared with Gwyneth and the kids.

“They have spent more time together than they did when they were a couple. When they are out together, all they do is laugh and act flirty and playful,” the same family source explains. “Gwyneth didn't want to end the marriage and is happy that she and Chris still have a close relationship. He's been a great father and that has helped keep the flame alive.”

So, while Gwyneth and Chris might not be back together officially, they’re halfway there. The unnamed source says that, whichever turns out to be the best for them, to continue with the divorce proceedings or to stay together, “they clearly love each other and always will.”

If it turns out to be the latter, chances are fans will probably have to wait a while until they get confirmation of it because Martin is now on tour with Coldplay, so he’s probably not spending too much time with Gwyneth.

Then again, Gwyneth could surprise us all again and just announce it on her Goop site, which is also where she broke the news of the divorce, completely out of the blue.
