Rapper Chris Kelly, half of the ‘90s immensely successful duo Kris Kross, died earlier this year of a suspected drug overdose. Toxicology results have been released, confirming the rapper’s cause of death.

Us Weekly reports that, indeed, Kelly had been using heavy drugs in the final hours of his life, which eventually led to his death.

“According to the toxicology screening, Kelly passed away at the age of 34 after consuming a lethal mixture of drugs. The ‘Jump’ rapper was found unresponsive in his Atlanta-area home and died shortly after at a nearby hospital,” the celebrity publication reports.

Shortly after Kelly’s death, his mother told the media that her son had been struggling with addiction for years and that she personally knew he had used a combination of heroin and cocaine known as “speedball” on that day, which proved fatal to him.

As I reported on a previous occasion, at the time of his death, Kelly and Chris Smith were working on a Kris Kross comeback.
