Just yesterday, it was revealed that the Sunday incident, in which Chris Brown reportedly lashed out at Rihanna, beat her and choked her until she was unconscious, and then fled the scene, was
not the first of the kind. With rumors abounding of a history of abuse in the Rihanna-Brown relationship, Chris is now turning to his Facebook page to make some form of statement regarding the controversy, MediaTakeOut is reporting.
Apparently, Brown’s Facebook page has been updated so as to address the controversy in one way or another, without being neither too obvious nor too specific about all the details. For instance, according to the aforementioned source, Brown changed his status to “single,” to show the entire world that his and Rihanna’s story is now truly over. Moreover, a new message was posted and, from what sources are saying, it is meant to let the world know that Rihanna is making this into something that is not.
“Disgraced R&B star Chris Brown has made his first statement following his alleged beating of superstar girlfriend Rihanna – he posted an update on his private Facebook page reading: ‘You’ll begin to see her true colors. Believe it!’ Brown’s comment appears to suggest Rihanna, 20, is partly to blame for the alleged attack which left her with heavy bruising, scratches and bite marks. In his profile picture, Brown is seen hugging a mystery brunette while smiling and pulling her leg across his body. The private page [is] listed under his full name Christopher Maurice Brown.” The New York Post writes.
Moreover, it seems that this page is different from the one to which fans have access, which would explain why the change was not noticed any sooner. However, it “lists his contact details as Jive Records, in New York,” as per the aforementioned source. If the report is accurate, then Brown’s message would come to confirm what his friends had already been hinting ever since word of the incident got out in the media – namely that the truth is somewhere in the middle and the media was served only one side of the story, which it readily bought.
Brown turned himself in after a violent altercation with girlfriend Rihanna, which ended in her reportedly suffering a broken nose, lip, contusions and bite marks. Since then, both stars have kept silent while the police investigation is still underway. Charged with making criminal threats and released on a $50,000 bail, Brown could actually face less than two years in prison for a domestic violence charge, if the police cannot gather enough evidence for the DA to pursue the former one.
