Chris Brown has just delivered a rather unexpected and fairly hard blow to the music industry and his fans.

Long story short, the pop star claims that his music career has come to an end, and that his most recent album has high chances to be his last.

“Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album,” Chris Brown wrote on Twitter, as cited by HitFix.

Notice the “probably.” Now try not to think about the fact that this tweet could very well be no more and no less than a publicity stunt. Not a very easy thing to do, is it?

According to the same source, the pop star further explained his decision to quit music as follows:

“Being famous is amazing when it's for ur music and talent. I'm tired of being famous for a mistake I made when I was 18. I'm cool & over it!”

Chris Brown's latest album, dubbed “X,” is set to hit the public this summer. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see if it'll truly be the pop star's last.
